3 Piggy Opera:
We are very excited to do our 3 Piggy Opera play for you on March 8th!  Our play will start promptly at 1:15 in the cafeteria.  Please arrive early enough to check in through the office and meet us in the cafeteria.  Everyone is invited.  You do not need to be board approved to come watch the play.  If you'd like to invite grandparents or other family members, they are welcome as well!  
Upcoming Field Trip:
We will be visiting Garden Works in Yucaipa on May 1st.  Please see the informational letter that will be in your child's Take Home Folder on Monday.  There is no cost to the field trip thanks to the Jog-A-Thon donations from earlier in the year.  The letter has all the information you need.  Please return your child's permission slip ASAP.

Valentine's Party:
Valentine's Day is approaching quickly! We will be exchanging Valentines.  You can decide if you'd like to send Valentines for the class.  If you choose to have your child bring Valentines, please bring 1 for each student.  We have 25 students in the class.  Please have your child ONLY write who the Valentine is from.  We do not put who they are to because it is too hard to pass them out.  Please plan on bringing 25 that can be easily placed into our Valentine Bags.  Also, please do not include food, candy or treats in your Valentine.  You may include a very small trinket that attaches to your Valentine if you would like.  

One School One Book:

Reading Folders:
We will continue our new reading folder routine next week!  Please be sure your child is re-reading his/ her book every night.  You may see the same book two times because re-reading several times builds fluency.  Thank you for your support in this.  Our kindergarten end of the year goal is for each student to make it to a level 5.

Week of January 7th

Welcome back everyone!  I hope you enjoyed the holidays with your families!  I am looking forward to seeing the kiddos and getting back into routine.  We will have a change in the way we do Reading Folders.  Please read below to be sure you understand the change and contact me if you have any questions.

Reading Folders:
We will continue to bring out reading folders back and forth from home to school daily just as we did before.  The books that we will be using from here on out belong to myself, or the school and MUST BE RETURNED TO SCHOOL THE FOLLOWING DAY IN YOUR CHILD'S READING FOLDER.  If your child does not return their book the next day, they will not receive a new book.  If a school owned book is lost or damaged, the school will need to replace the book and the cost of each school book is $10.  Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this change in our routine.
