Mother's Day Tea:
Don't forget our special Mother's Day Tea is this coming Friday. We will see you in the cafeteria at the start of school. Please park on the street this day so the teachers have spaces available to park their cars. Thank you!
Sight Words:
Please be sure you are practicing your child's sight word lists daily. There are some students that have not been bringing in sight words for testing. When children do not master their sight words, they most often do not progress. Please be sure to get new cards if you need them. Just ask.
Duck Eggs:We are so excited to have 5 baby ducks! It was a great hatch and everyone got to see at least one duck hatch from the egg! We will have our ducks through Wednesday. Feel free to stop in and see them!

Classroom Needs:
All of you amaze me with your generosity! I am so grateful for ALL that you help me with! Thank you for stepping up and abundantly donating items to our classroom whenever I am in need. I am so thankful for them!!
I must apologize! I realized today that I never uploaded the update I did for the blog last week! I did upload the homework tab but as for the home page, it was left in the draft folder!! I am so sorry! The book fair was probably a surprise to you because I never uploaded last week! I will blame it on the "jet lag" my family and I were dealing with after returning from Taiwan right before school resumed. I am happy to say that I am back on track and feeling good!

Carnival Basket:
Cram has a carnival every year and it is approaching quickly! Every class puts together a themed basket for an auction that day. Our theme is Star Wars. We are looking for any Star Wars themed item (new) to be donated for our basket. If it is easier for you to make a 5$ donation, that would be fantastic. Our Room Moms will take care of the rest! Send in your 5$ donation in an envelope marked "carnival basket" and I will make sure they get it. Thank you so much for your help!

Book Orders:
I sent some scholastic book order catalogs home last Monday. If you make an online order, send me a quick text letting me know. I find they do not always notify me and then I miss your order.
Duck Eggs:
We are learning about Oviparous animals and lifecycles in class. We are incubating duck eggs and hope to have a good hatch in about 3 weeks. It is a fun experience for the kids and feel free to stop in to see our eggs anytime.
I hope everyone enjoyed their Spring Break and is ready to begin the last few monthes of Kindergarten!

Spring Celebration:
We will be celebrating Spring this Friday and I would love some parent help from 9:00-11:00. We will be making Peep Houses, Spring crowns and other fun activities on Friday. Let me know if you can make it!
Reading Groups:
Our reading group routines will change this week. In the past, most of the students have brought home paper books and have collected them in their book boxes all year. These books have supported the sight words of the week. Beginning this week, students will bring home a BOOK BAG each night (a gallon ziploc bag) labeled with their name. They will read their book at home that night and return it in the BOOK BAG the next day. These books DO NOT go in their book boxes at home. If your child does not bring back his/her book bag the following day, they will not bring home a new book until it has been returned. Remember, we want all students to reach the Kindergarten benchmark reading level of 5. They MUST be reading EVERY night.
These books belong to the school and lost books need to be replaced in order to keep the sets complete. Lost books cost $5. Thank you for your support!
