Week of December 2nd

I hope everyone enjoyed their week as well as the holiday!  We have just 2 weeks of school before we take another holiday break!  I have a lot of fun things planned for these 2 weeks.  Christmas is a very busy time in Kindergarten full of memory making activities.  I'm excited to watch the students experience it!  I'm sure they will be coming home with lots of things to share and talk about.

Stocking Stuffers:
I am asking each student to bring a SMALL trinket of some sort to stuff into our holiday stockings on December 13.  Please send it in in a bag labeled with your child's name.  The kids love getting surprises in there stocking on that day!

Holiday Shop:
This is an event organized by PTSA that allows the kiddos to bring money and shop for family members.  The Christmas gifts will then be wrapped and brought home that day.  They can place them under the tree for Christmas morning.  Students do not have to participate in this.  I will take them to the Holiday Shop on Thursday, December 12.  More info will come home about this explaining how you can send money to me for their shopping, should you choose to.  Stay tuned!

Holiday/Winter Tree:
The students took home a construction paper tree before Thanksgiving Break.  Hopefully they had a chance to decorate it!  Please send that in and they will share it and we will decorate our classroom with it.

Parent Conferences:
I enjoyed meeting with everyone!

Christmas Centers:
I will be posting a sign up sheet for items needed on December 13th.  I will need parent help on this day from 9:30-11:15.

Holiday Performance:
The students have been working hard to learn a song to sing for you.  This is an evening event and is not mandatory.  We are asking the students to wear Christmas colors and dress nicely.  It is a fun event!  Hope to see you there.

Garden Works Field Trip:
We will be taking our first field trip on October 22nd.  Be sure to send your child a SACK lunch that day.  Keep lunch pails at home, its easier this way.  Also, some requested a lunch from the cafeteria and those students will not need to bring a sack lunch this day.  If you are one of our parent volunteers, please meet us there.
